Home grown goodness
Paternal fifth aunt used to give us her home grown crops regularly. Since she cleared the vegetation to make way for her oil palms, we could not savour the sweetness from her harvest anymore. Knowing that dad likes sweet potatoes, she will purchase some home grown ones from her neighbour for him. Naturally, I will receive some too. Instead of the usual sweet potato soup and sweet potato porridge, I'd decided to make a sweet potato tart with Chef Keiko's recipe. The sweetness from the soft fillings complemented well with the pastry and needless to say, awesome!

I'm very happy with my tarts. At least they looked proper, did not shrink or any otherwise. Thanks very much to Chef Daniel for the tip when he demo-ed the Pecan pie, which I can apply to making this recipe from Valarie. I'd been procrastinating on making her tarts since last doing the fruit tarts, but with this, I'm encouraged to make more variety.

Fruit Delights
I used to have a phobia in making tarts. I was not very certain what is actually rubbing in with finger tips, even after the instructor demonstrated, I still couldn't get over my fear. I'm glad I finally did this because this would be the stepping stone to making other tarts. This recipe also calls for the custard which was made from scratch. So the combination is great. I did not brush any jelly topping on top of the fruit as I preferred them in their natural taste and the custard is sweet enough to blend with the sourness of the fruit.
